Foreign Mitsubishi Models

October 7th, 2022 by

Mitsubishi Motors is a global company offering a wide variety of cars and SUVs around the world. While we have an excellent selection of models here in the United States, there are different models available in other countries. From compact minicars to pickup trucks and hybrid electric vehicles, take a look at some of the popular foreign Mitsubishi models.

Mitsubishi eK X EV

Mitsubishi calls the eK X a minicar, and the EV is the electric version. It’s slightly smaller than the Kia Soul but has a capable motor that generates 63 horsepower, making it perfect for urban driving. You can find this all-electric crossover in Japan. It has a flat front end and sides, giving it a boxy look but adding practical interior space. It can go up to 112 miles on a single charge, and the 20-kWh battery will charge to full capacity in just eight hours with a standard plug. Using a quick charger gets the battery to 80% in 40 minutes.

Eclipse Cross Plug-in Hybrid

While we have the gas-powered Eclipse Cross in the United States, in Australia, you can drive a plug-in hybrid version of this popular crossover SUV. It gets power from a MIVEC 1.5-liter turbo gas engine and two electric motors. This powertrain provides drivers with the perfect combination of efficient electric driving and the long-distance capabilities of a gas engine.

It features LED exterior lighting, alloy wheels, and 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels. You can get it with a panoramic sunroof and daytime LED running lights. Inside, the Eclipse Cross Plug-in Hybrid has an 8-inch touch screen, heated front and rear seats, and Mitsubishi’s Smartphone link Display Audio system that connects the Eclipse Cross Plug-in Hybrid with your phone using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

eK X Space

The Mitsubishi eK X Space is a super-height Kei wagon available in Japan. This minicar is extremely stable and easy to drive, with the practicality of a tall wagon. The horizontal and vertical front grille and bumper give it a powerful look, and it comes with adaptive LED headlights, skid plates, a rear spoiler, hands-free dual sliding doors on the sides, and 14-inch wheels.

Inside, Mitsubishi developed the cabin with the horizontal axis concept. This means it has a floating horizontal instrument panel to make the cabin feel even more spacious while providing the driver with an excellent view of the road ahead.

Power for the eK X Space comes from a 659 cc three-cylinder gas engine. It’s available in naturally aspirated or turbocharged versions, and both work along with an electric motor to help with acceleration. A seven-step continuously variable automatic transmission works with both powertrains, and the top-level trims even have paddle shifters.

The eK X Space comes in three different models. The higher trims get Mitsubishi’s My Pilot safety suite with systems such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, in addition to all the standard safety driver aids that the rest of the lineup comes with.

Mitsubishi L200 Series 6

The Mitsubishi L200 is a pickup truck available in the United Kingdom. This dependable truck is designed to go hard while providing a comfortable ride and space for an entire family. The L200 offers a four-wheel drive system that can switch between driving modes as the road or off-road conditions change. It can handle a 4,125 kg payload and tow up to 3,500 kg.

Inside, the L200 has comfortable seats in both rows of the double cab, and it offers upscale features such as heated front seats, leather seat trim, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. It comes packed with technology features that every driver and passenger will appreciate. From the DAB radio to Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and large infotainment screen, it has everything drivers and passengers need to stay connected and entertained on the road.

Xpander

The Mitsubishi Xpander is a compact vehicle available in Southeast Asia, several Latin American countries, the Middle East, and Africa. This Mitsubishi offers SUV styling on the outside, but inside, it’s an MPV with three rows of seats and plenty of space.

Up front, the Xpander has Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield design with extra protection for pedestrians and passengers. It also features a chrome upper front grille, daytime running lights, and sleek lines along the sides and rear. There are LED headlights in the front bumper and powerful LED taillights.

The Xpander’s cabin is open and welcoming, with room for up to seven people. The second-row seats fold down for easy access to the third row, and both back rows fold down to create a spacious cargo area. There are USB charging ports throughout the vehicle, and it comes with Bluetooth, hands-free controls for the audio system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Pajero Sport

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is an Australian off-road SUV. It has the power and capability to tackle rough terrain, but inside it’s upscale and luxurious. It comes with either two- or four-wheel drive, and it’s just as comfortable driving over rutted dirt roads as it is on city streets.

A 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine powers the Pajero Sport, and with the Super Select II 4WD system, drivers can choose the driving mode that will make the most of the conditions. The advanced all-terrain system will easily switch between two-wheel drive and the multiple four-wheel drive modes on the fly.

The Pajero Sport comes with Mitsubishi Motor’s Intuitive Technology or MITEC. This group of systems combines passive and active safety technologies, so they work in unison to help the driver stay alert and avoid collisions. It includes forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, hill start assist, blind-spot warning, active traction control, rear cross-traffic alert, trailer sway assist, and several other features.
